"Katie Fforde's unique spin on romantic comedy is a blend of the sweet, the sad, and the sexy." --Patricia Gaffney

Sarah is a wedding planner hiding a rather inconvenient truth--she doesn't believe in love. But as the confetti flutters away on the June breeze of yet another successful wedding season she finds herself agreeing to organize two more events, on the same day, and only two months away. And while her celebrity bride is all sweetness and light, the other bride, Sarah's own sister, quickly starts driving her crazy with her high expectations and very limited budget. Luckily, Sarah is aided in her seemingly impossible task by two best friends, Elsa, an accomplished dress designer, and Bron, a multitalented hairdresser. All three are very good at their jobs, but romance doesn't feature very prominently in any of their lives. As the big day draws near, every moment is spent preparing for the weddings, and they certainly haven't got any time to even think about love; or have they?

Hugo, tall, blond and rumpled, always gave Sarah the impression that he’d just got out of bed – and not his own.

Elsa sighed, wishing she could be bright and outgoing without having to be slightly drunk.

Lots of people think that hairdressing is only for people who couldn’t do anything else. I could have done lots of things, but I wanted to do hairdressing. There’s a lot more to it than people realise.

‘Dirk’s mother said it was a good idea to have a big wedding because you get lots of presents and they set you up for your married life.’
Sarah muttered to herself that if you were mostly paying for your own wedding it probably wasn’t cost-effective.

Chaste for years, she’d suddenly become a sex fiend! It was lovely.

Theoretical weddings always went swimmingly. It was the real kind that were unpredictable.

Love when women who don't love get to love and be loved

A wonderful book by a great author. I love Katie and her books! A funny romance novel written by a British author who uses many "British" terms. I love her books and am slowly but surely reading all of them. Highly recommended!

One of the things I like most about Katie Fforde's books is learning about her characters' professions and hobbies. There's romance in these books, but the women always have so much more going on in their lives besides thinking about men, and it's interesting. In this case, all of the main characters are involved in the wedding business, and it was a bit of a wedding overdose for me, but still a good read.
