My Years With the Grenfell Mission

Audiobook CD - 2011
Rate this:
Following World War II, Gordon W. Thomas and his wife Patricia, began 33 years of service to the people of northern Newfoundland and Labrador through the Grenfell Mission. Dr. Thomas began as an assistant to mission doctor Charles Curtis but was soon on his own, performing surgery at the mission clinic, on ship at sea, and in barren outposts in the dead of winter - wherever he was needed and wherever ships, planes, and dogsleds could get him. In 1979 he "retired" as general director of the mission and he and his wife moved to Inverness County, Nova Scotia. Today he travels the county full-time as a surgeon and family practitioner.
