I am still very confused today as to what order the books are in. Apparently this is the second one, but the series goes by this Title's name? Regardless, it was better than What The Spell. I really don't think that the protagonist Hadley is a difficult person to like. She's got quirks and her personality outshines her bad habits. If anyone just wanted to step in the shoes of someone who was everything they ever wanted, but had to deal with newfound problems, this is it! As someone who never invested much in the Salem Witch Trials, this sure sparked my interest. Did anyone else catch the jokes the author made in the titles? 5/5 stars

Definitely liked this book the best out of all three. It just had something that made it stand out among the others, though how far it stood, it wasn't very far. an entertaining enough read for pre-teens.

At the first glance of the cover, Life’s a Witch looked really cheesy. But I was always a sucker for stories with magic in a modern world so I gave this book a try. What did I think of it? It was okay…sort of. The story is about a girl named Hadley who is one of the most popular girls in her school. The reason behind her popularity is that she is a witch. But after an attack on her coven by a rival coven called the Parrishables, Hadley must lead the fight against them. My one big pet peeve about this book is how much they downplay the magic. In the few fight scenes they have, the spells they have would either have really bad casts (“hiddemus opendum” you can guess what that does), they weren’t descriptive enough about the spells (sometimes they would basically say that sparks flew from their hands), or they wouldn’t even use magic, they would sometimes just resolve to punching and kicking. This didn’t even make any sense considering it’s a book about WITCHES and I found a total of about three spells that didn’t even sound like well thought out spells! Another thing that bothers me was the occasional moments of the book where it felt like the dialogue was awkward and out of place. It were those moments in the book where it didn’t feel like you were reading something in this characters perspective, just something the author wrote. Other than those moments, the writing in this book can be pretty enjoyable. But I will say that the romance in this story is the most rushed relationship I have ever seen! Like before you can blink Hadley and her love interest, Asher, are already acting as if they’re soul mates! There was also the problem with the main villain of this story being way too cliché and having little to no time for depth or backstory. Not to mention that his motives were pretty lame. I will say that Hadley was a likable character. She was very confident in herself yet humbles enough to put her friends before herself. The title Life’s a Witch refers to Hadley’s life revolving around her witch life. I wouldn’t say this is a book if you are into magic, battles and complex story plots but if you do happen to find it in the library and you’ve got nothing to read I’d say this book could be a good read.

Life's a Witch:

“This witch lives a charmed life. . .

Hadley is the envy of every girl—and the desire of every guy. Her key to magically having it all? She’s an actual witch.
As a descendant of the first woman executed in the Salem witch trials, Hadley understands the consequences if her secret gets out. The only ones who know about her powers are members of her coven, who, like Hadley’s family, have magic in their blood. But there’s no spell that can undo a fatal attack on the coven. All the evidence points to an age-old rival coven as the culprit, and now it’s up to Hadley to lead the fight against them.

At the same time, she’s caught up in her feelings for a mysterious guy named Asher, who has plenty of secrets of his own. With everything at stake, can Hadley trust her magic—and her heart?”
