This book was a great read. When I was reading, it felt as if I was right there with Brian and his friends. With the “zombie” apocalypse feel, this book will have your adrenaline pumping. The pace of the book is a good fit because the author allows you to get to know about the characters before the action begins. I also found the setting particularly interesting because most “zombie” books are not based at high schools. However, the “prison-like” security and walls of the school were quite unrealistic. As for the age-suitability, I would recommend ages 14+ because there are mature language and topics. I recommend this book to anyone who likes action and especially those that love the apocalyptic feel. If you find yourself daydreaming about a crazy event happening at your school, this book is for you. Rating 4.5/5
