This series is great.! I always want a wonderful Indian meal after reading . Tarquin's characters are easy to like and laugh with! I so hope more books are in the works.

OK, Mr. Tarquin Hall. Don't just leave us hanging there after introducing a great new character and dropping intriguing hints about another character's past. We want more! This is my way of saying Tarquin Hall has done it again, with a story that entertains and enlightens at the same time -- but unfortunately this is the last story so far in the Vish Puri series. If it truly is the last, I'll very much miss Vish and his crew.

Delightful and funny suspense in New Delhi, India.

The latest installment of the Vish Puri mystery series - I find them very enjoyable to read as a get away. I agree with a prior reviewer who compared it to McCall Smith's detective from Botswana - you get a sense of the rhythm of the country, people and food. (can't forget the food with Vish Puri!)

Fans of Alexander McCall Smith's No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series should check out Tarquin Hall's light and enjoyable mystery series about PI Vish Puri, which just gets better and better. In the latest, Puri is called upon to help a member of the Love Commandos (which by the way is an actual organization in India "dedicated to helping India's lovebirds who want to marry for love"). In this story, a high-caste woman wants to escape an impending arranged marriage to marry a young untouchable, but he has gone missing. Hall writes lovingly about the culture (especially the foods) of India, where he has lived for over a decade.

The plot meanders all over India, but really, isn't that one of the reasons one enjoys this series? Some hilarious set-pieces with Vish Puri's Mummy-ji & some secondary characters. More idiomatic Indian English, please! With recipes.

The underlying subplot of this novel was a little overly scientific for my understanding, but that didn’t get in the way of my enjoyment. Those smarter or more genetically-inclined than I am might like it better. I was much more interested in the idea of the Love Commandos. Hall makes them sound like a cross between a spy ring and the Witness Protection Program.

A light hearted detective story about New Delhi detective working on yet another case from a series of books. The book is a joy especially if one knows a little bit about India and specifically New Delhi area. In this book Vish Puri ventures out to Agra and other UP locations, which is nice as well. The book is very funny and characters charming. Very entertaining light read that keeps you guessing until the end.
