SPOILERS ABOUND
So.
Edward is dazzling. Edward and Bella get married and have some super intense, dangerous relations.
I WOULD LIKE TO POINT SOMETHING OUT:
Charlie has previously had a very important conversation with Bella. This conversation is all about the importance of protection, staying safe, so that you don't "get pregnant and die."
The one really important rule Charlie ever gives Bella and Edward, and they completely and entirely blow it.
I'm shocked at how stupid the vamps are. Ah well.

I WOULD LIKE TO POINT OUT ONE MORE THING:
There is an entire paragraph in this book, where Bella describes how she doesn't understand how anyone would have the confidence to face their husband on their wedding night if they weren't perfect, glittering vampires.
I don't think I've been letting these books affect the way I think and so I think I'm safe. But Steph, for any die-hard Twi-Hard reading this, they are incapable of confidence, because they don't have perfect glittering vampires to hold them in their marble arms.

Either way, continuing on:
After the super intense, dangerous relations, Bella get's pregnant with a demon baby that is destroying her.
Everything is horrific.
We get to understand Jacob a bit more and understand that he is even more vile than we thought when we read Eclipse.
Leah is the awesomest character IN THE BOOK.
And then.
And then.
Mazal tov, Renesmee is born.
And suddenly I was shocked.
Because Stephenie was doing something she hadn't done until now. She was writing well.
Like, really well.
Suddenly I didn't hate Bella so much.
Or Edward, honestly.
I think until here, all of the characters were displaying emotions that were so obviously impossible, I was laughing at it.
But when Edwella become parents, they were suddenly feeling things that I hope to feel one day. Suddenly their story didn't seem so foreign to me.
And then, right when things were looking up, Jacob falls in love with a baby.
HOLD IT BEFORE TWI-HARDS BLAST ME: I know imprinting is more than that, is different from that. I'll discuss it, don't worry. It's just fun to write that "Jacob falls in love with a baby." Come on, admit it. It's wacked.

Either way: Imprinting isn't really falling in love. It's actually, in a way, a beautiful thing. A true soul mate.
But just a tad too gross for me to stomach.
Question: Once Renesmee is seven years old and fully physically mature, will she also be mentally mature? Like, will Jacob be waiting until she's ACTUALLY and adult in AGE before he changes from brother, protector, friend, whatever he wants to call himself, to producer of stronger werewolves?
Well, Steph? I'm waiting for my answers.

Well, I've done it. I've read the Twilight series.
I successfully love it-- and it gives Percy Jackson a run for it's money humor wise. But in the end I think PJ wins, because after the first book, Twilight just gets disturbing. PJ has it's own faults-- read my reviews!-- but Twilight shall always be worse.
Ah well.
It was funny.

I've come to think of this book as separate to the Twilight trilogy because of how different the story line is. The first three books are a somewhat believable fantasy series, but the fourth book "Breaking Dawn" brings in so many twists and turns that it is almost too fantastical to believe. I still enjoy reading this book for basic plot once in a while, but I try to think of it as a book unconnected with the Twilight trilogy.

This book wasn't as great as the others in the series, but I still enjoyed it.

I give this book credit, getting to know the Cullen family more and about some of their pasts is what mostly kept me reading. Also, the werewolves were a much larger part of this book, and I loved reading about them more than anything else in the book. Being introduced to a ton more vampires other than the Cullen’s was an engaging part of this book. If you skip any part with Edward and Bella in it, then I would definitely read the book again, or recommend it to someone else, because that’s where all the interesting stuff is! The since the second book, New Moon, you were expecting the battle for a while, and it was starting to get suspenseful in this book, but it wasn’t much. You’d think because we had to wait so long to see how the battle turned out we would have been given an actual battle! Parts of this book were alright, but I wouldn’t read it again.

Bella and Edward get married and are expecting a baby. On the other hand, the Volturi are mad. They are preparing for war against the Cullens like never before. The Cullens must get together a huge of vampires so they at least stand a chance against the Volturi. 1 Star

This is, as many know, the last and longest book in the Twilight Saga! Howveer, that does not mean that this book gets less interesting over chapters and time, but in fact the opposite happens. The drama, tension, and suspense just elevates in quality and quantity in this finale. I just could not put this book down when reading it! I have a friend who absolutely adores this series, and she can drone on and on about why all the books, especially this one, in the series are written so spectacularly. If I quoted her here, however, I may spoil a thing or two, so it is up to those readers to go find the amazingness themselves. Sometimes I find myself even wondering what can happen afterwards, after all this.

Will pick up tonight around 6:45 pm.

Breaking Dawn, I think, was the strongest of the series. I think it worked that it had a fairytale-like ending, because the whole story is supposed to have that beautiful, slightly impossible feel to it. The first couple are enjoyable. They're romantic, suspenceful and have some very quotable lines, but Breaking Dawn is worth the wait! Don't worry, some people have nice unexpected twists of fates! :) :) :) :) :)

Forever, shall we be together, forever shall we love.

The hopes, the joys, and the sadness of immortality, the experience and wisdom of them long, light years.
All our happiness in a single bite, a drop of blood on white snow.

If she hadn’t looked so fragile I would’ve been screaming. As it was, I did growl at her. Jacob Black, Breaking Dawn, Chapter 10, p.189

The friendship that had sprung up between Edward and Seth was something that still boggled my mind. It was proof, though, that things didn’t have to be this way. That vampires and werewolves could get along just fine, thank you very much, if they were of a mind to.

SAPPHIREBEAR15 Jun 08, 2012

Virtual indestructibility was just one of the many perks I was looking forward to. The best parts about being a Cullen were not expensive cars and impressive credit cards.

SAPPHIREBEAR15 Jun 08, 2012

Ha ha. Because I was so fragilely human, so accident-prone, so much a victim to my own dangerous bad luck, apparently I needed a tank-resistant car to keep me safe. Hilarious. I was sure he and his brothers had enjoyed the joke quite a bit behind my back.

vampire-themed fantasy romance novels

SAPPHIREBEAR15 Jun 08, 2012

Breaking Dawn is divided into three separate parts. The first part details Bella's marriage and honeymoon with Edward, which they spend on a private island owned by Carlisle who bought it for Esme, called Isle Esme, off the coast of Brazil. Two weeks into their honeymoon, Bella realizes that she is pregnant with a half-vampire, half-human child and that her condition is progressing at an unnaturally accelerated rate. After contacting Carlisle, who confirms her pregnancy, she and Edward immediately return home to Forks, Washington. The fetus continues to develop with unnatural rapidity, and Edward, concerned for Bella's life and convinced that the fetus is going to kill her, urges her to have an abortion. However, Bella feels a connection with her unborn baby and refuses.

To be irrevocably in love with a vampire is both fantasy and nightmare woven into a dangerously heightened reality for Bella Swan, breaking dawn is a very intence book that makes you sit on the edge of your seat. breaking dawn is one of my favourite books out of the twilight saga.

As I read the Twilight saga, the two things that carried me were the romance and suspense. The romance (whether you're a member of Team Edward or Team Jacob) was palpable throughout. The works that inspired the first three books in the saga - Pride and Prejudice, Romeo and Juliet, and Wuthering Heights - number among the great romantic stories of our time, and Meyer adapted them brilliantly to her story of first love in town of Forks, WA. In terms of suspense, big battles never seemed to be the author's choice. Tense moments were built more out of implication than body count. The final showdown with James in Twilight seemed to me the most graphic battle of the first three books. The scenes with Laurent and the Volturi in New Moon were suspenseful, but no blood was shed in either. Even in Eclipse, the confrontation with Victoria and her minions played out like the chorus describing an off-stage battle in a Greek tragedy (with a bit of head rolling tossed in for good measure). So, tense and dramatic, yes. But violent and filled with depictions of hand-to-hand combat.
