An interesting and fun anthology of some of the best thriller writers and their characters matched in the same story by two authors. Each story is prefaced by remarks about the authors and their famous characters. My two favorites were The Laughing Buddha, a well written and interesting mystery with a supernatural twist and The Devil's Bones, where two famous protagonists, Cotton Malone and Gary Pierce combine their efforts in an exciting fast paced adventure in the Amazon. But generally short stories often don't allow the reader to get deeply involved with the characters.
However this anthology is a great way to discover new authors to read; especially helpful is the author biographies which mentions some of their best works.

Excellent. This collection is what results when the best writers bring their characters together.

Imagine all the best, most iconic characters from thriller fiction all pairing off to tackle short conundrums -- like Jeffery Deaver's Lincoln Rhyme meeting John Sandford's Lucas Davenport, Lee Child's Jack Reacher confronting Joseph Finder's Nick Heller, and even Preston & Child's Aloysius Pendergast matched with R.L Stine's Slappy the Ventriloquist Dummy!

"In this unique collection, 22 bestselling suspense authors have paired off, as have their most popular characters -- be they lone wolves or team players. Within these pages you'll find John Sandford's Lucas Davenport working with Jeffrey Deaver's Lincoln Rhyme, while Lee Child's Jack Reacher comes across Joseph Finder's Nick Heller in a bar. Chances are, your favourite authors are here, while at least a few others -- and their creations -- will be new to you, making this a great choice for fans of all kinds, as well as readers looking for new experiences and new authors." Two excellent stories, several good ones and only one that I couldn't be bothered to finish.
