"Poles Apart" by Terry Fallis was an amusing read. A light-hearted satire on feminism, it is a good-hearted story of a fellow who becomes a wildly popular feminist blogger while desperately trying to keep secret the fact he is a male. I actually laughed out-loud. A fun and funny novel with a bit of a serious side.

This is a serious subject set in a comic situation. There is none of the hyperbole of his earlier works but there are some clever lines and evocative story lines that include the themes of latter day feminism; separation from loved ones; illness and death. I wish the publisher had not tried to emphasize the awards for humour and just let the reader pick this up as a serious discussion set in novel form.

This is my first Terry Fallis read. It was a simple read about gender equality written from a male perspective and with humour. I did find the book to be a bit predictable so if you're looking for twists and turns, this is not the book for you.

Charlie Brown luck in family (parents divorced), job (pandered for cosmetics) & love (he's more feminist than girlfriends) gets his day in the sun. Author deserves to win a book award on funny story.

A fun, lighthearted, and endearing read about the serious subject of gender equality. I really enjoyed this book, especially the interesting and quirky characters. It pulled me in so quickly that I was able to read it over the course of a just a couple of days!

Great writer, great book. Love the story and the humour - and I learned something about blogging, too. Terry Fallis is one of my favourite authors.

Once again Mr. Fallis has produced a fantastic story. His up-to-date topics, and ability to craft a tale are very refreshing and should be read by all.
