I agree completely with the commentator below. This movie would have been much better as a documentary, something along the lines of Werner Herzog's GRIZZLY MAN -- an exploration of megalomania (and in Gary Faulkner's case, American exceptionalism). As it is the viewer gets a screwball comedy that is also a romance film. The best part is when the Nicholas Cage character ends up in Islamabad at the end of the movie. For the real story of how Osama bin Laden met his end there is Seymour Hersh's THE KILLING OF OSAMA BIN LADEN. (Navy SEALs shot a guy who was kept under house arrest by Pakistan.)

This movie is apparently a true story of one Gary Faulkner who traveled to Pakistan alone to find and capture Osama bin Laden. In the movie he is played by Nicholas Cage in one of his wigged out manic performances where he plays Faulkner like a motormouth crackpot crazy person. Which kind of matches the over the top manic wigged out storytelling that just jumps all over the place between reality and fantasy. The movie is kind of a low budget mess but the oddball weirdness of the story and main character may hold your interest to see what nutty thing this guy will do next. Perhaps the story would have been more interesting as a documentary of the real person who we see in the end credit but doesn't sound or act anything like Nicholas Cage's performance which was amped up to 11.
