This was more entertaining then I thought it would be based on reviews and disappointing based on hype.
I did like Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence and did not question why the bartender spilled the beans.....maybe it was part of the overall impending operating failure.
It is one of those movies that I was glad to borrow from the Library and not have spent $$ seeing it at a cinema.

I loved the chemistry of the 2 actors selected for this film, Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt.
Also the set design for the star-ship Avalon is incredible. The love story is really romantic and real. The 2 characters journey through this unfortunate circumstance with elegance and resolve. Highly recommend this film to anybody is that is a romantic at heart.

I love a cool science fiction movie with a romantic backstory. Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence have great chemistry.

(Warning: spoilers!) This is a fun mixed-genre movie: sci-fi in setting, with the first two acts being a rom-com (more rom than com) and the third act classic sci-fi/action/horror (think “Aliens” but without the monsters because the ship itself has become the monster). But if you think about it, there are (besides that hole in the spaceship) a couple of holes in the plot: why wouldn’t such a high-tech spaceship have better deflection/defense against possible asteroids strikes? Why wouldn't the asteroid hit be easier to identify? (Asteroids probably don’t swarm like that in interstellar space anyway unless they’re the remnants of something bigger that just broke up, but why would it?) Why did the robot bartender reveal the secret as soon as Pratt’s character is out of earshot? And what was the robot bartender doing all those years in the bar with no one to serve anyway? Maybe we should put those questions out of mind and just sit back and enjoy the movie. It’s quite a ride, and the special effects (particularly the swimming pool in zero gravity sequence) are spectacular. Just don’t think too much.

Loved this movie. Proof that they don't have to have violence, murder and gore in a movie to make it great.

I liked that movie and am glad to watch it. Still agree with most vicious comments here.
Yes, starting with - it's absolutely fable - troubleshooting , fixing and repairing would never went like that. Not mention that something so simple like hit by meteor would be easy to identify even by self-controlling services.
Of course - whatever think about possibility of long-lasting cosmic voyages - with limited resources - forget about vacuum cleaner wasting their time and energy, about barman android etc, when you weep in the space - you are really in troubles. So - cut it off - it's a fable and has nothing to do with real cosmic trips, not because of technology
So that movie is more about contemporary issues and here I agree - 30 minutes are excellent, about failure in technology and also agree that the end is getting into vaping teenage romance.
So really mixed thoughts and probably did rate a little to high ...
just because movie was stuck into my mind

I enjoyed this movie, and I think the reviewers were unfair in their assessment of both Pratt and Lawrence.

I didn't really know much about this at all before I watched it and it was a pleasant surprise. I thought it had a really intriguing premise. I loved the look of the spaceship, and I thought Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt were very believable. I enjoyed this and I was glad I was pretty oblivious about the plot beforehand. When thinking about it afterwards, some plotholes popped up, but it was a pleasant enough diversion while watching.
