Everyone has at the very least heard of Gordon Lightfoot, but I knew only LIghtfoot as the older gentleman. Sure, I knew he had been in showbiz since the 70's but I didn't know any details. This biography satisfied my curiosity. What surprised me is that Lightfoot was once a curly headed folksinger with filled out cheeks. The square-jawed musician of today bears little resemblance to his younger self. I was pleasantly surprised that he was an environmentalist way before it was fashionable.

Good Book! Especially if you know Orillia, Ontario. He works hard and is very disciplined. Enjoyable read!

I've been a fan since before his first album (which came out in early '66), since I heard Early Morning Rain and For Lovin' Me, done by Ian & Sylvia. Gord has always been very non-forthcoming about his private life, but this book gives much more information about him than has ever been released before. Well-written, and a must for his hard-core fans.
