Ryan Reynolds is as always funny and... well, hot in this film.
But other than that, the movie was action filled to the brim, and just too long, and predictable.

Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson spend a couple of hours yelling at each other in this buddy road trip sort of action film that has a down on his luck bodyguard reluctantly taking on a detail to bring a notorious assassin to the war crimes court in the Hague to testify against a despot (Gary Oldman, thoroughly chewing the scenery). It's fast paced, adult in its sensibilities, and thoroughly preposterous, but it works.

Wow, perhaps: language really goes well way beyond appropriate. Totally unnecessary. No idea why they felt they had to go there. Nobody would notice if the poor language was missing; why put it there?

Just a fast action, fun film. There is a lot of swearing, even Selma Hayak. I enjoy Ryan Reynolds' very dry wit. He does it so well. Samuel Jackson is tough and rough. This film is just an action movie, with a humorous twist, which I enjoyed. This isn't a serious Clint Eastwood 'deliver the goods' to court. It a humorous 'deliver the goods to court' film.

The same: continuous chase scenes, gunfire, explosions, violence, and lots of blood, interspersed with somewhat witty comeback quips from the lead characters. Oh, and lots of swearing and language considered to be foul. Exactly what you expect from a movie with both Samuel L Jackson and Ryan Reynolds in it, and the same as all the prior ones. We like both actors but these movies are just getting old and tired.

This film dragged on with repetitive foul language and high amount of seemingly impossible amount of survival rate from automatic gun fire, I found myself skipping ahead at times.
I found that the rough and tough wife character played by Salma Hayek (Beatriz at Dinner: 2017, September of Shiraz: 2015 )and the largely useless and unfunny smart aleck remarks by the character played by Ryan Renyolds (Life: 2017, Deadpool: 2016), was tiresome and over simplified.
I was more impressed with Samuel L. Jackson's (Kong: Skull Island: 2016, The Hateful Eight: 2015) role as the key witness, and with Gary Oldman's (2017's, Darkest Hour; The Space Between Us) performance of the one dimensional, demonized character on trial.
The ex-girlfriend character played by Elodie Yung (2016's Daredevil tv series, and Gods of Egypt) showed some promise but was an unexplored potential.
It was a fast paced and polished film but fell short of a higher rating due to the lazy writing.
There was no bonus or special features on the DVD.

Verbose film, constant bicker, occasionally humorous, extensive chase scenes that become boringly long. Interesting take on good and evil. Not a lot of "acting"...mostly derivative. Reynolds seems to be stuck in shallow character roles. Maybe he is not capable of more?

A surprisingly good movie. Definitely not for young children though with the constant swearing and violent headshots. Ryan R's character is basically the same person as Deadpool and Greenlatern (smart talking joker) but Samuel L Jackson's character is pretty interesting and actually makes a couple good arguments about whether his actions are good or evil.

A fairly entertaining film that I found disappointing given the cast, and subsequent expectations I had. It is an incredibly violent film, but the kind of violence you find in the Kill Bill films. If you are looking for a more art house film like Snatch, this is not similar in my opinion. This is closer to a mash up between a revenge film and a comedy. Irreverent, crude and violent.

Coarse Language: Lots and lots of language. Seems like every other word out of Samuel L. Jackson's mouth is an F-bomb. Sometimes played well to comedic effect.

Coarse Language: Extreme language warning - every second word is bad.
