Another book with beautiful, lyrical language from the master Neil Gaiman. Along with gorgeous art by Colleen Doran. On the outside, it's a simple childhood story of the sinister monster under the bridge. But this story is darker and deeper than just that, but upon reflection I can't decide if it's metaphor on childhood sexual assault, or possibly homosexuality, or maybe both? Or maybe it's just a story about a boy and a troll and the dangers of living with fear and regret. Regardless, it's beautiful and quick and well worth reading.
