"From there to here, from here to there, funny things are everywhere" . . . So begins this classic Beginner Book by Dr. Seuss. Beginning with just five fish and continuing into flights of fancy, One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish celebrates how much fun imagination can be. From the can-opening Zans to the boxing Gox to the winking Yink who drinks pink ink, the silly rhymes and colorful cast of characters create an entertaining approach to reading that will have every child giggling from morning to night: "Today is gone. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one."

Originally created by Dr. Seuss, Beginner Books encourage children to read all by themselves, with simple words and illustrations that give clues to their meaning.

It's a bit of fun. Fun drawings. Mad tangents. Many pages stand alone. Recommended.

Rhyming stories about fish and unusual animals such as the Nook, Wimp, and Zeds.

My two year old loves this book - which is essentially a collection of slightly related poems.
Some of the rhymes are excellent, but a few are a bit odd. I like it, but I prefer Cat in the Hat and Green Eggs and Ham (the other two Seuss books in our bedtime rotation).

Classic, this reminds me of why I fell in love with Seuss in the first place. I have never met a person who does not join me in the word play of this book!

Dr Seuss's rhymes can't be beat. For the youngest children, I stick to his easy readers (like One Fish, Hop On Pop, There's a Wocket in My Pocket, etc) & avoid most of the longer, more complicated picture books.
