This book only scratches the surface of the weirdness of "old Roy", whom Elvis Presley called the best voice in rock 'n' roll. Traces the roots of rock that came from the good ol' boys of the American south, and the pioneers who took from country & western, bluegrass to create rockabilly and rock 'n' roll -Perkins, Presley, Lewis, Cash etc. A fine telling of the Wilburys' birth and mushrooming on the music scene. We can rest assured Roy died happy, given his massive resurgence and peer praise he achieved near the end. A good read, well researched and with excellent supporting notes and bibliography for further study.
