The accounts of the Holy Lands history in the Bible have for years been taken for granted. But recently, a body of discoveries has raised questions about many of the most widely accepted Biblical narratives. Amy Dockser Marcus examines this research, which is changing not only our understanding of Scripture but the face of the Middle East today. Marcus takes the reader on a tour of the Old Testament to reveal new discoveries about the history of that time, and reminds us that the problems that plague the modern Middle East have their roots in Biblical timesand may find their solutions there, as well.

An exceptional book.

While focus is on the Old Testament, the movie reveals how scientific archeology techniques and analysis trumps mythology.

And shows that all the various segments of the Old Testament are not only mythological stories, but were written down many, many generations (usually centuries) after the supposed "facts".

An exceptional companion piece is the DVD movie, "The Bible Unearthed"!

And ANYTHING by Israel Finelstein!
