Four short humorous tales meant to either add to the world of Chrestomanci, or help tie up loose ends. For example, at the end of Magicians of Caprona Tonino is invited to visit Chrestomanci Castle. One of the short stories in Mixed Magics continues on from there and introduces Cat to Tonino.
While it was nice to fill in the gaps left by D.W.J.'s other books, I found the stories to be incredibly short. Some could have been stretched out into their own books, while others were light fluff pieces.
