An amazing Greek tragedy, showing Oedipus' pride, ignorance, and vanity before revealing his shame and horror at his identity and actions. Oedipus looks into his past and the past of Thebes in order to heal his sickened city, but in his search to see the truth, realizes that he has truly been blind his whole life.

Oedipus the king was a strange story about prophecies. I thought that this play was very predictable and i would not recommend this book. It did however convey a strange point of not being able to change the future and the prophecy told.

Wow! A very intense play with quite an unusual and very original type of plot.
