Lawyer Paul Madriani's friend Nick is killed along with a client. Paul works with Nick's jilted ex-wife and current bubblehead wife to split the insurance proceeds, and he learns about a project Nick was involved in. The search involves drug dealers and jungles in Mexico where Mayan artifacts are being looted. There are lots of bad characters, threats, and action. Paul is more like a private eye than a lawyer, but the characters are interesting.
