This was one of the best books I have read in a long time. The story of her life should be made into a television movie series. It is unbelievable that she lived as long as she did with that amount of drug use and dangerous situations she put herself in. It is RAW to the core, Etta tells everything including what other well known musicians in the industry were doing at the time meaning drug use, sexual activities, criminal schemes and just about anything else. You Name It, It's in this book. If you want to know what goes on behind the scenes in the music industry, this is an eye-opener. Not only that, if you want to understand the thinking of a person who willing decides to stay on a road that leads to no good, this book is very educational because you get to see life from their viewpoint. The only downside of this book is all of the information about every song and how it came about and who worked on it..it got to the point where it was just WAY TOO MUCH so I ended up skipping those sections. Otherwise, Good Read and Great Book! Thanks Etta..May You Rest in Peace...
