Eh. This is the first I've read of Naipaul, and his prose certainly does flow. However, this is a real downer of a book about race relations and colonization of Caribbean Islands. A little too political for me, and very cynical. The narrator is the protagonist, and not very likable. I'm really pretty surprised that I stuck it out...a tribute to Naipaul's writing. Not his story.
